A project visit was organised in early July 2018 at the Famille Mary company; an opportunity to meet the project leaders and to learn about the work carried out in developing this company in Maine-et-Loire.
SAS FAMILLE MARY is an SME established in 1921, which collects and chooses honey, mainly French and European in origin. The company is active in the packaging and processing of honey and creates recipes combining plants and essential oils.
It distributes its products in France (90% of turnover) through its network of stores located in major French cities, through distance selling—mail order and e-commerce involving 200,000 customers—and on regional markets. The company has enjoyed significant export success with strong growth since 2013, corresponding to 10% of its turnover.
To cope with the evolution of honey packaging—which has resulted in a significant increase in volumes processed—the company must modernise its production tools in order to remain competitive. It wants to invest in a packaging machine that can be tailored to market demand, offering many types of packaging. This development project will create 3 jobs (permanent contracts).
The total amount needed for this project is €260,064.56.
It is supported by the EAFRD to the amount of €41,350.26 and by the Pays de la Loire Region (DAPA) for €36,669.10.
